Charles Allen "Al" Blackburn

Charles Allen "Al" Blackburn, 55, of Bristol, TN passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018 unexpectedly at his residence. He was born in Bristol, TN on September 5, 1962, a son of the late Charles Eugene "Bunky" Blackburn and Ella Sue Mullins Blackburn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Reverend & Mrs. James A. Mullins and Mr. & Mrs. Charles Blackburn.He was a lifelong resident of Bristol, TN and was of the Baptist faith. He graduated from E.T.S.U. in 1984 and worked as an engineer for Raytheon Co. for 14 years before starting his own business, L.A. Design Graphics in Bristol, TN in 1998. He enjoyed playing basketball and loved the Tennessee Vols. He loved animals and took in every stray. He had a big heart, was an amazing caregiver, and was a devout Christian and loved his Lord.Al is survived by his sister, Teresa Blackburn; brother, Mark Blackburn and wife Kim; two nieces, Chelsey Booher and Madison Blackburn; three nephews, Wade Booher, Chase Blackburn, and Ian Blackburn; one great niece, Avery Grace Booher; and his canine companion and best four legged friend, Tebow.The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services, 417 Lee St., Bristol, VA. The memorial service will follow at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Bobby Branch officiating. The committal service and inurnment will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Mountain View Cemetery, Bristol, VA.Read Obituary
