Myrtle Louise Tallman Wingate, 86, of Bristol, VA passed to her heavenly home on Friday, June 29, 2018. She was born on April 3, 1932, a daughter of the late Rev. Willard and Stella "Ted" Tallman. Louise married Robert "R.C." Wingate in 1951 and raised seven children whom she loved very much. She dedicated her life to her family and her church family. She loved playing the piano for children's Sunday school and Children's church for many years. In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was also preceded in death by three children, Janet, Bobby, and Rebecca; and a brother, Guy Tallman. She is survived by her children, Tony, Mark, Brian, and Amy; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Wyndum "Sonny" and Alvin; and one sister, Laura Lee Owens. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Caris Healthcare Hospice for all their loving care shown to Mrs. Wingate during her time of illness. The Committal service and entombment will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 2, 2018 at Mountain View Cemetery Mausoleum in Bristol, VA with Rev. Austin Cook officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2020 Meadowview Parkway #100, Kingsport, TN 37660. Louise and Peggy Carty were the two people at Tennessee Ave. who made a big impact on my life when I was a little girl. I still remember them leading children's church and how much they loved each child there.

I was so sad to read of Louise's passing. What a wonderful lady she was and she will be greatly missed. My heartfelt sorrow to the entire family. I wish I could be there to pay my respects.
