Margaret Tuell Clendenen

Margaret Tuell Clendenen, age 90, of Bristol, Virginia passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 in Bristol following an extended illness. She was born in Salem, VA on October 7, 1926, oldest child of the late Floyd and Gladys Tuell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband of 58 years, Robert Clendenen, Sr; infant daughter, Margaret Susan Clendenen; four brothers, Haines, Ralph, Roy, and Dee Tuell; one sister, Mary Bowers.She was a resident of Bristol for her entire life where she met Robert Clendenen Sr. and married on June 1, 1946 after he returned from WWII. She and her sister Floye ran a successful upholstery business for over 30 years.Margaret is survived by three daughters, Jacqueline Clendenen Shelley of Bristol, VA, Mary Dell Clendenen Canter and husband, Gary of Bristol, VA, Doris Clendenen Shuman and husband, Kenny of Abingdon, VA; son, Bob Clendenen, Jr. of Bristol, VA; two sisters, Floye Tester and Gay Abel and husband, Bill; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to hospice for all the care shown to Margaret during her illness.The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Mountain View Cemetery Mausoleum. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at the Mountain View Cemetery Mausoleum with Barry Dye officiating. Pallbearers will be Grandchildren.
