Ruth Bowers Taylor

Ruth Bowers Taylor, 90, of Bristol, VA passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Broadmore Assisted Living. She was born in Bristol, VA on August 9, 1927, a daughter of the late Henry "Abe" and Katherine Morrell Bowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Taylor and several sisters and brothers.She was a lifelong resident of Bristol, VA. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family deeply and loved spending time with them.Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Susan Taylor and husband David Tollie and Donna Logsdon and husband Lee James; three grandchildren, Laura Burgos and husband Mel, Leslie Logsdon, and William Tollie; three great grandchildren, Jordan Burgos, Justin Burgos, and Jayson Burgos; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Broadmore Assisted Living and Wellmont Hospice for all the love and care shown to Ruth during her illness.The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services, 417 Lee St., Bristol, VA. The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jonathan Jonas officiating. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Mountain View Cemetery, Bristol, VA.
