Chuck Prater

Chuck Prater, age 58, of Bristol, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021. He was born December 1, 1963 in Grundy, VA. He was the son of the late Shirley Prater.Chuck was a music fanatic. He also enjoyed cars and drawing. Chuck had a beloved cat named "Rowdy." He spent most of his time with his family and friends.In addition to his mother, Chuck was preceded in death by three uncles: Hassel Stiltner, Michael Ray McClanahan, James Prater; and his granparents: Stella and Andrew McClanahan. He is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Smith (Carlos); fiance, Tammy Vaughn; niece, Penny Byrd (Matthew); nephew, Drew Winchester; special friends: Roy Church, Gary Rowe JR, Leon Davidson, Tony White, Fee Haynes; and many other close friends.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Ballad ICU and Select Specialty Hospital, both of Bristol, TN.A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.Online condolences may be made to the Higgins family at www.blevinscares.com.
