Dave H. Fields

Dave H. Fields, 74, of Bristol, VA went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN. He was born in Lebanon, VA on October 20, 1941, a son of the late Willie Jackson Fields and Oneida Price Fields. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Randall Fields and two sisters, Faye Fields Price and Velma Fields Clark. He was a retired manager of the treatment plant with the town of Richlands, VA. He was a treasurer and a deacon at Belle Meadows Baptist Church and sang with the Gospel Light Quartet. Dave is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Garrett Fields;one daughter, Sherry Fields Helton and husband Randy; granddaughters, Jacqueline Fields and Andrea Helton; one sister, Patricia Fields Martin and husband Jimmy; special nephews and nieces; and special family friend, Dwana Denton. The family would like to express a special thank you to the church family for all of their prayers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:45 p.m., Friday, November 20, 2015 at Belle Meadows Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Dr. Dewey Williams and Associate Pastor Timothy Clark officiating. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 11:30 am, Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Forest Hill's Memory Gardens, Abingdon, VA. Pallbearers will be deacons of Belle Meadows Baptist Church, Steve Shelton, and Josh Denton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenny Bailey, Dennis Price, J.C. Hobbs, and Jimmy Martin. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery at 11:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be sent to Belle Meadows Baptist Church, 619 Wagner Rd., Bristol, VA 24201
