David King Berry Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

David King Berry, 77, of Bristol, VA passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born in Bristol, VA on September 21, 1938, a son of the late William Gray Berry and Nell Combs Berry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters-in-law, Irma Anderson Berry and Donna Blevins and a brother-in-law, James Fields. He was a very faithful member and elder of Cleveland Evangelical Presbyterian Church and graduated from Cleveland High School. He loved working on and restoring old cars. David is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy Fields Berry; one daughter, Leann Ashley Berry; one grandson, Kadin Harper Payne Berry; one sister, Sylvia Berry Smeltzer and husband Kenneth; two brothers, Robert Combs Berry and John Lowry Berry; in-laws, Faye McMurray, Hannah and James Matlock, Linda Brown, Jean and Paul Dean, Betty and Danny Davidson, Johnny Fields, David Fields, Sandy and Willie Williams, and Janet Osborne; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Cleveland Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Abingdon, VA. The funeral service will follow at the church at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Tom Musselman officiating. The committal service and interment will follow the church service in Cleveland Evangelical Presbyterian Church cemetery.
