Douglas Carl Wilson, 73, of Bristol, TN passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Cambridge House, Bristol, TN. He was born in Bristol, TN on December 19, 1942, a son of the late William and Grace Chambers Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. He retired after several years with Die Cast Metals. He loved Tennessee High School football and watching the University of Tennessee play. "He'll be missed but never forgotten. Go Vols!" Douglas is survived by his children, Glena "Charlie" McNeill and boyfriend Ricky Osborne of Bristol, TN, Penny Wilson of Salisbury, NC, Terry Wilson and wife Charlene of Mendota, VA, Gary Wilson and wife Tammy of Todd, NC, and Alethea Adkins of Greensboro, NC; brother, Jimmy Wilson and wife Betty of Blountville, TN; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to JDRF Greater Blueridge, 3969 Electric Rd. #222, Roanoke, VA 24018 (for juvenile diabetes research), Red Cross, 14298 Lee Hwy., Bristol, VA 24202 ( for Great Smokey Mountains Disaster Relief to be noted on the check), or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
