Elizabeth (Bette) Ferrier Rockett

July 23, 1930 - January 17, 2022

Elizabeth (Bette) Ferrier Rockett, of Bristol, VA, went home to be with the Lord on January 17, 2022. Bette was born to the late Harry W. Ferrier and Evelyn Isett Ferrier on July 23, 1930 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. Bette was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ronald P. Rockett, and by two brothers, William and James Ferrier. Bette Rockett is survived by her two children, Sandra Lynn Rockett of Grayslake, Illinois, and Robert (Bob) P. Rockett and wife, Cindy of Bristol, Virginia; her grandchildren, Joy Rockett Hull and husband, Clint of Bristol, Virginia and Donn Rockett and his wife, Rebekah of Kingsport, Tennessee; four great-grandchildren, Reagan, Berkley, and Lydia Hull and Emma Herron of Kingsport, Tennessee. A life-long volunteer, in Pennsylvania, Bette was involved in a variety of activities with her children as they grew in Norristown. Involved in her church in Audubon, she served on many committees including the deacons, missions and Bible School. She also participated in the adult and the bell choirs. In 2003, Bette and Ron moved to Bristol, Virginia, to be near family. They joined State Street United Methodist Church where Bette volunteered with Crossroads Medical Mission, Spring Garden Preschool, and the church education committee. She was a team teacher in the Sodalis Sunday School Class. Most importantly, Bette loved her family and friends unconditionally. Known as “Nana” to many, her loyalty and steadfast love of the Lord, gave strength to others. The family would like to extend special thanks to Bette’s friend and caregiver, Cindy Spradlin as well as Caris Healthcare’s hospice staff, especially Ashley. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 3:30 PM with visitation beginning at 3:00 PM at State Street United Methodist Church, 650 Valley Drive, Bristol, VA 24201 with Pastor Laura Rasor officiating.
