Emily C. Mays

Emily C. Mays, 93, of Bristol, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 17, 2014. She was born in Hansonville, VA on April 30, 1921, a daughter of the late Charlie and Maxie Lampkins Cumbow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Franklin Mays. She was a native of Russell County, VA and had lived in Bristol for the past 63 years. She was a member of NorthStar Baptist Church. Emily is survived by her sons, Larry Franklin Mays and wife Rita and Michael Anthony Mays and wife Marjorie; sisters, Mrs. Fannie Kiser and Mrs. Joyce Bledsoe; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services, 417 Lee St., Bristol, VA. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Mountain View Cemetery Mausoleum in Bristol, VA with Dr. Bill Houck officiating. The committal service and interment will follow at the cemetery.
