Gayle Roberts Hagy

April 5, 1927 - January 28, 2015

Gayle Roberts Hagy, 87, of 520 West Valley Drive, Bristol, Virginia, passed away January 28, 2015 at Johnson City Medical Center after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his wife Naomi Jones Hagy. Mr. Hagy was the son of the late Charles Albert Hagy and Amanda Jane Price of Abingdon, Virginia. His paternal grandparents were James Louis Harrison Hagy and Sarah Elizabeth Roberts. His Maternal grandparents were Elec Alexander Price and Sarah Elizabeth Clifton. Survivors include two sons, Timothy Lee Hagy and Robin Gayle Hagy, one grandson, Adam Hagy, sister Beryle Hagy Miller, brothers Donald Edwin Hagy, James William Hagy, Harold Lynwood Hagy, as well as numerous nieces as nephews including Judy Vance Jarnigan, Eddie Vance and Penny Jones Fulton. Mr. Hagy was preceded in death by brothers Charles Thornley Hagy, Clyde Windsor Hagy, Everette Hale Hagy, Kermit Kendall Hagy and sisters Hazel Elizabeth Hagy Hayter, and Barbara Ann Hagy Harris. Mr. Hagy was a retired employee of the U. S. Postal Service, and he served in the U. S. Navy and Navy Reserves. He was a faithful member of Central Christian Church in Bristol, Tennessee. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January, 31 in the chapel of Mountain View Cemetery, Bristol, VA. Those who wish to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:45 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Central Christian Church, 608 W. Mary St., Bristol, VA 24201 or a charity of choice.
