Harry Thomas "Tom" Hurt, 80, died peacefully in his sleep April 24, 2018.He was a veteran of the United States Army and had worked for the phone company for 42 years. He was a avid golfer, sports enthusiast and UK fan.Tom is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sallie Hurt; son, Charlie Hurt and wife Paula; daughters, Sallie Lively and husband David and Elizabeth Gartner and husband Steve; and grandchildren, Katie Hurt, Mattie Hurt, Tripp Lively and Harper Lively.The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2018 at Fellowship Chapel, Bristol, VA or anytime at the home. The Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Scott Price officiating.Read Obituary
My deepest sympathy goes out to Tom's family - a family he was very proud of. I had the opportunity to officiate football and basketball with Tom and also umpired softball with him. He was a good man and always fun to be around. My condolences for this loss.

Tom was always so much fun to be around. He loved life and his family. Having worked with Tom at United/Sprint for over 30 years he was by far the best salesperson I ever saw. He could sell ice cream to Eskimos and convince them to come back for more. My sympathies to Tom’s entire family.
