Jo Ann Lowe Carico

March 25, 1937 - March 23, 2016

Jo Ann Lowe Carico, 78, of Bristol, Virginia passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, VA. following an extended illness. She was born in Pikeville, KY on March 25, 1937, a daughter of the late Edgar and Flossie Raines Lowe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, L.E. Lowe and John Lowe. She was raised in Castlewood, VA and a resident of Bristol for most of her life. She was the owner of Jo Ann's Fashions for over 25 years. She loved to fish, go bowling, and gardening. Jo Ann is survived by her two sons, Chuck Cumbow and his wife Stephanie, and Dennis Cumbow; four grandchildren, Chase, Taylor, Robert, and Keri-Ann; two sisters, Versie Osborne and Betty Hamilton; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to Virginia Powers, William Gore, Elvia Gerdes, Dr. Webster Crowley, and her Hospice nurse, Nikki for all the love and care shown to Jo Ann during her illness. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00P.M., Monday, March 28, 2016 at Blevins Funeral and Cremation Services, 417 Lee Street, Bristol, VA.
