Laura M. Stratton, 85, of Bristol, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at her home. Laura was born on June 23, 1931 to the late Clarence Morton Sr. and Stella O. Morton. Everyone that knew Laura called her Honey. Laura was a devout Christian all her life. She was a member of Virginia Avenue Baptist Church. One of her favorite versus in the bible was John 3:16. Laura graduated from Virginia High School. She worked for Dominion Bank for eight years. Laura married on March 6, 1954 to her loving husband of 62 years and 8 months, Leonard A. Stratton. They had three sons, Eddie Ray Stratton who passed away on July 29, 1966, Leonard M. Stratton who passed away on May 13, 2012, and one surviving son, Keith L. Stratton of Bristol, Tennessee. In addition to her husband and son, she is also survived by two grandsons, Leonard M. Stratton II and Hunter A. Stratton; one granddaughter, Casey E. Stratton; four great granddaughters, Isabella S. Stratton, Arianna R. Stratton, Keilyn A. Stratton, and Laura M. "Little Laurky" Stratton. In addition to her parents and two sons, she also had three brothers that preceded her in death, Clarence N. Morton, Bobby I. Morton, and Edward A. Morton. There has never been any love stronger than ours. Monty loves you, even in death. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday, October 10, 2016 at Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at the graveside at Mountain View Cemetery in Bristol, Virginia with Rev. Jim Cumbow officiating.
