Lorine Ferris

Lorine Ferris, 91, of Bristol, Virginia passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015. She was born in Nortonsville, KY on March 14, 1924, a daughter of the late Lanie and Annie Smothers Pharis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.Lorine lived in the area for 29 years and was involved in her church and other community organizations. She loved her family and enjoyed traveling to visit them. She and her husband were involved in scouting and a camping group evolved from that in Illinois. She is survived by her husband, Clifford Ferris; two daughters, Carolyn Davis and husband Lowell of Indianapolis, IN and Catherine Schoen of Bristol, VA; two sons, James Ferris and wife Ruth of Spring, TX and David Ferris and wife Gloria of Humble, TX; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one sister, Eva Bagley of Decatur, IL; one brother, Bud Pharis of Decatur, IL; and several nieces and nephews.A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 627 Island Rd., Bristol, VA with Pastor Gary Chenoweth and Pastor Jim Bangle officiating. The committal service and interment will be conducted at a later date at Graceland Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 4825 Trousdale Dr., Suite 220, Nashville, TN 37220 or Redeemer Lutheran Church.Read Obituary
