Malcolm "Mack" Coomes

Malcolm "Mack" Coomes, 71, of Bristol, Tennessee passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol, Tenn. He was born in Princeton, WV on September 23, 1943, a son of the late Franklin and Ruth Coomes Howell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edmond Gene Howell and a sister, Mary Cannon. Malcolm is survived by his wife, Frances "Totty" Hurd Coomes; daughter, Brenda Sue Griffin and husband Donnie; son, Malcolm "Little Mack" E. Y. Coomes; ; grandchildren, Hannah Griffin and Peery Griffin III ; brother, Kenneth Howell; and sisters, Shirley Brown, Patty Jackson, and Missy Nunley. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services, 417 Lee St., Bristol, VA. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Andy Moehn officiating. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Mountain View Cemetery, Bristol, VA.
