Peggy Mae Smith Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Peggy Mae Smith, 66, of Mendota, VA passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Hillview Health Center, Elizabethton, TN. She was born in Mendota, VA on July 19, 1951, a daughter of the late Herman and Mattie Sproles Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Wayne Smith; sister, Teddy Bentley; and three heavenly grandchildren. She attended Pine Grove Baptist Church in Mendota, VA. She loved spending time with her grandsons and making crafts. Peggy is survived by her daughter, Angela Meadows and husband Patrick of Mendota, VA; three grandsons, William Gobble, Dawson Gobble, and Matthew Gobble; three sisters, Hazel Tester, Bobby Hyland, and Chris Dye and husband Barrett; several nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends. The family would like to express a special thank you to nurses Billi and Leigh of 2 West at Bristol Regional Medical Center for all the love and care shown to Peggy during her illness. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services, 417 Lee St., Bristol, VA. The committal and interment will be conducted at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN.
