Phyllis was born on August 2, 1944 in Bristol, TN to the late Charles Franklin & Elizabeth (Christian) Baines. Phyllis was a dedicated member of Anderson Street Church of God. In her spare time she enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with her family and friends. Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother; sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Buck” Whitaker. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Kevin Allison & wife Crystal; daughter, Angela Worley & husband Kelly; four grandchildren, Adam Worley, Kelly Worley, Jr., Danielle Sowell, and Kai Allison; two great-grandchildren, Hudson Blevins and Paislee Worley; brother, Frank Baines; two sisters, Hazel Trivette and Charlotte Baines; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105; www.stjude.org; 800-478-5833). The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of NHC Bristol and Caris Healthcare for all of the kind and compassionate care that was both given and shown to Phyllis in her time of need.
