Robert "Bob" G. Barlow

Robert "Bob" G. Barlow, 85, of Bristol, VA passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Grace Healthcare in Abingdon, VA. He was born in Greenbrier County, WV on August 28, 1930, a son of the late Joseph and Lillie Surbaugh Barlow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Barlow. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was a true artisan making Kentucky rifles by hand. He was a master gunsmith, avid fly fisherman, hunter, great story teller and a friend to all that ever met him. Robert is survived by his wife, Pauline Barlow; daughters, Kathy Barlow Weaver and Trina Fraley and husband Frank; daughter-in-law, Susan M. Barlow all of Bristol, VA; grandson, Chase Weaver; granddaughters, Amanda Lester-Farmer and Leigh Ann Barlow; three great grandsons; and one great granddaughter on the way. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services, 417 Lee St., Bristol, VA. A private entombment will be conducted at Mountain View Cemetery Mausoleum at a later date. Honorary pallbears will be Don Harless, Jerry Larkey, Eddie Carter, Dan Long, Rick Houser, Pat Widner, Jerry Forrester, Ronnie Kinsley, Tom Griffin, Pat Miller and Don Michaels.
