Roger Melvin Crane, Sr.

Roger Melvin Crane, Sr., age 85, of Bristol, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 19, 2018 in the Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol, Tennessee following an extended illness. He was born in Abingdon, Virginia on June 7, 1932, a son of the late James Liberty and Essie Adeline Saunders Crane. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War. He was formerly employed by Westinghouse for 25 years and He was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He loved sports, especially baseball, and was an avid outdoorsman.Roger is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Carole Crane, four sons, Roger Melvin Crane, Jr., Jeffery T. Crane, Brent E. Crane and Daren E. Crane; three grandchildren, Benjamin Crane, Daniel Crane and Sarah Crane; one sister, Carmen Caldwell; three step children, Jessica Quesenberry, Erica Ford and Courtland Ford; two step granddaughters, Haleigh and Jaelin; and several nieces and nephews.Mr. Crane and his family are in the care of Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services, 417 Lee Street, Bristol, VA 24201, phone #: (276) 669-6141.
