Sue Dillon Allen
June 27, 1950 - May 23, 2022
Sue Dillon Allen, age 71, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 23, 2022 after a short, but very courageous battle with cancer. She was born on June 27, 1950, to the late A. Jeffrey and Leola Murray Dillon in St. John's Brunswick, Canada. She is also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Heather Katie Wright and her brother, Pete Dillon. As former Executive Director of Bristol Speech and Hearing Center; Sue had a servant's heart made of gold and full of love. She was an active member of Fellowship Chapel Church, a former member of the Bristol Life Saving Crew Crewettes; she served in roles such as President in the former Quota Club of Bristol, Board of Directors member of the Abuse Alternatives, and volunteered for many, many years at Bristol's Rhythm and Roots Reunion. She loved her family, friends, and God. However, the most treasured to her on this Earth called her Nannie: Samantha, Brittany, Hunter, Kobe, Matti, Maddox and Charleston. Plus, three great grandchildren. Sue leaves behind her loving, adoring husband Larry; as well as three children: David (Tonya), Travis (Shelley) and Tiffany(Jason); two stepdaughters: Kelly and Stephanie; bonus daughter, Lyndsay; sister, Jo; several nieces, nephews, and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105), Abuse Alternatives (104 Memorial Dr, Bristol, TN 37620) or Fellowship Chapel Church (201 Crockett St, Bristol, VA 24201) in her name. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses in the ER, ICU 1 and 4 West of Bristol Regional Medical Center, as well as Dr. James Kneff, Dr. Hetvi Joshi, and Dr. Michael Patrick for their care and compassion over the past two weeks. A gathering of remembrance will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Fellowship Chapel Church (201 Crockett St, Bristol, VA 24201) beginning at 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM. A service will follow beginning at 1:30 PM with pastor Scott Price officiating. A committal service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery (1019 Valley Dr, Bristol, VA 24201) at 3:00 PM.
