Virginia Dare "McGuire" Felty

August 12, 1930 - January 30, 2022

Virginia Dare “McGuire” Felty, 91, passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father during the evening hours of Sunday (January 30, 2022) at her home surrounded by her loving family. Virginia was born on August 12, 1930 in Watauga County, NC to the late Mark & Pearl (Church) McGuire. Virginia attended Trinity Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend; she will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by beloved husband of 60 years, Howard Martin Felty; and son, Howard William Felty. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Virginia Sue Johnson & husband James, Charles Woodrow Felty & wife Lena, and Sherry Edith Oliver & husband Roger; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and host of friends. The family will greet guests and share memories on Thursday (February 3, 2022) from 5 to 7 p.m. at Blevins Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Virginia will be laid to rest on Friday (February 4, 2022) at 2 p.m. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor Travis Ingle officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kolby Felty, Michael Felty, William Felty, Jeff Felty, David Hutton, Justin Hutton, and Asher Hutton. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Virginia’s caregivers, Amy Tester, Lena Felty, and Katelyn Mallett for all of the kind and loving care that was both given and shown to Virginia in her time of need.
