William "Paul" Paul Ballard

William "Paul" Paul Ballard, 73, of Bristol, VA born on July 30th, 1946. Paul was an avid RV camper, classic country music fan and woodworker and passed away on Friday April 3rd, 2020 following various health issues.Paul (he went by his middle name not to be confused with his uncle with the same name) loved taking his RV and traveling along the Eastern Shore. He and his beloved chocolate lab, Bailey, could often be found hanging out at various campsites near the water.Paul was born in Washington DC and raised in Bladensburg, MD. He spent most of his summers visiting the Chesapeake Bay area as he grew up. In high school he played drums in various bands and was a true fan of classic country music.Paul was an excellent electrician. He learned the trade in high school and went to work as an apprentice right after graduation. He continued his tradesmen training passing various courses to get his Journeyman’s certification. After working with several businesses he decided to start his own, William P Ballard Electrical Services.Once retiring to Bristol Virginia in September 2017 he resumed a childhood hobby of woodworking. Building a swing, various chairs and several benches to be used around the house was a renewed passion.Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Ballard and Regina Miller Ballard.He is survived by his wife, Kathie Hill Ballard, a brother, David Ballard and two daughters, Michelle Ballard-Ramberg & Denise Ballard. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, TK Ramberg, Tori Ramberg and Tristan Ramberg. Survivors also include several great- grandchildren.There will be a memorial service at 11:30 AM Saturday, July 25th 2020 at Lake Shore Campground 19147 County Road Abingdon, VA 24211 with Reverend Donald Stacy officiating.
