William Edward Lee Cole Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

William “Bill” Edward Lee Cole, also known as “Snook”, 79, entered into loving arms of Jesus during the late evening hours of Sunday (June 26, 2022) following a lengthy illness. Bill was born on April 13, 1943 in Bristol, TN to the late Luther Martin & Evelyn Isabelle (Leonard) Cole. Bill was of the Christian Faith. He was member of Damascus Road Baptist Church. Bill retired as the Chief Building Inspector of Washington County Virginia after 29 years of dedicated service. Bill enjoyed the simplicity of life, being outdoors, hunting, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a very patient and humble man. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend; he will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his son, Mark Edward Cole; brother. Alfred Cole; and sister, Gladys Bajot. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Vada Sue Cole; sons, Eric L. Cole & wife Deanna and Jody L. Cole & wife Miranda; four grandchildren, Alexander Lee Cole, Ansleigh Noelle Cole, Kyler Grant Cole, and Caitie Grace Cole; siblings, Luther Cole, Hal Cole, Peggy VanHoy, Sally VanHoy, and Virginia Wright; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host friends. The family will greet guests and share memories on Thursday (June 30, 2022) from 1 to 2 p.m. at Blevins Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Blevins Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. John Massey, Jr. officiating. Bill will be entombed following the Celebration of Life Service at Mountain View Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Damascus Road Baptist Church (18844 Jeb Stuart Hwy Abingdon, VA 24211).
