Zenda Gail Cox Carmody

Zenda Gail Cox Carmody, 59, of Bristol, TN passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born in Detroit, MI on November 12, 1959, a daughter of the late Dana and Mary Byington Cox.She was a devoted member of First Freewill Baptist Church, Bristol, VA. She enjoyed working with the children in vacation bible school and going to basketball games at King University. She received an honorary degree from Central High School in 2014.Zenda is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jerrell Edward "Marty" Carmody; siblings, Kristi Wallen and husband Greg, Carroll Cox, David Cox and wife Allison, Michael Cox and wife Crystal, Judy Kibler and husband Charlie, Janet Cox and friend Dean Shelton, Patty Gardner and husband Rick, Rickey Cox and wife Crystal, and Deborah Uemura and husband Tee; and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services, Bristol, VA. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2019 at the funeral home with Pastor David Mizelle officiating. The committal service and interment will follow the funeral at Mountain View Cemetery, Bristol, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
