Sherrill Paulette Barker Sanderson, 71, of Bristol, VA passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at her home. She was a native of Bristol, TN and a daughter of the late Paul V. and Mary C. Barker.Sherry was a graduate of Tennessee High School in Bristol, TN and Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, VA. Sherry worked for Reynolds Metals and retired after 32 years. She was of the Christian faith. She was devoted to the love and care of all animals and caring for friends and neighbors.Sherry is survived by her son, Don Sanderson and wife Ruth; sister, Phyllis Williams and husband Jim; goddaughter and special friend, Jordyn Hopkins; and many close nieces and a nephew.The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services, Bristol, VA. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.Read Obituary

Sherry and I were friends from the time we could walk. We grew up together being next door neighbors on Carson Lane. Even though we hadn't been in touch in the last few years, there are so many, many memories and fun times that we shared.

I will always remember Sherry and her laugh and will miss her very much. She was an important part of my life.

Sherry was a dear friend althrough Jr. High and High School. We talked about 8 years ago about a class reunion. She could not make it to the reunion, so sorry I could not see her again, have thought of her so often. My condolences to her family. RIP my friend.
